Internet to be unavailable on 31 April

The internet will be unavailable on 31 April 2015.

The entire internet will be down for 24 hours for essential maintenance, including dusting servers and clearing out spam. Old passwords will also be deleted from sites such as Geocities and MySpace.

“It’s all about keeping everything running smoothly,” says Simon Bluster, head of IT at the International Internet Health Administration, based in California. “People should take this opportunity to maybe actually talk to their friends instead of messenging them, and practice not leaving ambiguous attention-seeking statuses on Facebook.”

Furniture polish company Mr Sheen says it is gearing up for record sales in the week leading up to 31 April as people buy extra cleaning materials to dust off their servers. A spokesman from J Cloths was unavailable for comment.
